From startup to scaleup: in conversation with Bidstack and Bitstocks

July 7th - JD named as 1 of 2 speakers

It’s the startup dream: getting traction, attracting investors and scaling rapidly. But what are the challenges of fast growth?

The event will be chaired by Folu Fabowale-Makinde, Plexal’s innovation associate. Folu delivered the Innovate UK Scaleup Pilot, which helped the innovation agency understand more about the challenges of fast-growth companies in specific sectors.

yeah. He used the event to save a few quid on an RNS and told us we had signed every AAA game in existence and were on course for revenues of 100 billion billion pounds by year end.

But seriously, it was an ok discussion. Half an hour. Nothing of note, except he did point out something about preferring to go for the big end game and not be distracted chasing short term small wins.... Ok JD, so spill them beans please! Where is this Big Win... ;)

A man who catches lots of small fish still eats. A man who only tries to catch big fish, go hungry more times than he eats. One is fisherman, other is fool.

A man who signs piddling little indie games still makes news flow. A man who only signs a few mega blockbuster games has to put up with bored muppets on investor forums.

One is Admix. The other is Billionaire-in-waiting-Bidstack.

:)

What motivates JD to state the complete obvious?

To me he’s responding to small fish being caught elsewhere.

So is there a recording of this? I want to hear tone, see body language. If it’s smug like a man who’s quietly sitting on ground breaking news it tells us everything. If it’s hostile and defensive I’d be a bit worried.

@Mr_Chow it was neither. Just a throw away remark during the conversation. Don't read too much into it either way
